War in Iraq: The U.S. Relationship with Europe Transatlantic Webcast by Netbriefings
St. Paul, Minnesota - April 3, 2003 - On Monday April 7, St. Paul Webcast services company, Netbriefings, will donate its services to broadcast a live keynote address that begins a two-week Internet discussion about the war in Iraq. The two-week forum is being hosted for North American and European students by Politalk, an organization that provides Internet space for public policy discussions on controversial issues. Former US Ambassador to NATO, Robert Hunter, will deliver the keynote address, speaking of the impact that the war in Iraq has had on the US-European relationship. The Netbriefings Webcasting technology and Internet interface will allow students from North America and Europe to listen to the speech live and submit questions electronically. Moderators, on location in Washington DC, will select questions and present them to the speaker, while students on both sides of the Atlantic will hear the speaker's response. p>Gary Anderson, CEO of Netbriefings, stated, "We are donating our services for this worthwhile event because getting people involved, to openly discuss global issues, can only help to bring people together."
According to conference organizer, Tim Erickson of Politalk, "Through the Webcast and subsequent on-line discussions, we are able to provide students from around the world an opportunity to directly interact and discuss a critical issue facing the entire global community."
Students from 50 countries have already registered for the two-week discussion.
The live Webcast of Robert Hunter's address will begin at 9:00 A.M. Pacific, 12:00 P.M. Eastern, in North America; or 17:00 Western Europe Time and 18:00 Central Europe Time, on April 7.
